Payments Analyst

As a Payments Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring that the company's payments processes are efficient, secure, and aligned with company goals and industry standards.

Duties and responsibilities:

Customer Claims Resolution:

Address and investigate customer claims received from the support team.

Conduct in-depth analysis of lost transactions, unexpected deductions, and double charges.

Initiate refunds when necessary to ensure customer satisfaction.

Transaction History Analysis:

Analyze customer transaction histories to extract decline reasons and financial patterns.

Implement preventive measures to mitigate further declines for specific cards or customers.

Traffic Analysis and Partner KPIs:

Perform daily traffic analysis to track partner key performance indicators (KPIs).

Monitor transaction volumes, approval rates, and sort errors to enhance channel efficiency.

Communication with PSPs:

Liaise with Payment Service Providers (PSPs) regarding metrics, ad-hoc issues, and customer claims resolution.

Ensure effective communication for swift issue resolution and continuous improvement.

Chargeback Support:

Provide support for incoming chargebacks. Collaborate with the support team to collect KYC and relevant documents to fulfill chargeback requirements.

Experience and qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as finance, accounting, statistical analysis, or business administration will be considered an advantage. Previous experience in payment analysis, financial analysis, or a related field is highly beneficial.

• Strong analytical skills are essential. You should be proficient in data analysis, including working with large datasets, identifying trends, and using statistical tools or software for analysis.

• High level of attention to detail to identify any discrepancies in payment data.

• Familiarity with various payment systems and general understanding of online payments will be beneficial. This includes knowledge of credit card processing, e-wallets, bank transfers, and other payment platforms commonly used for acquiring.

• Effective communication skills are important for collaborating with different teams within the company, as well as presenting findings and reports to senior management. Clear and concise communication, both written and verbal, is crucial.

• Acquiring is a dynamic industry and subject to constant change. Being adaptable and able to quickly learn and adapt to new payment technologies, industry trends, and regulatory updates is crucial in this role.
