The General Counsel will lead the legal operations of an investment holding, specializing in international M&A and private equity projects. This key role requires extensive legal expertise in Russian and British jurisdictions, with at least 15 years of experience, preferably within top-tier international law firms. The Chief Legal Officer (CLO) will play a crucial role in structuring complex international deals and overseeing legal teams across different regions. Fluency in both Russian and English is a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Global Transactions: Manage and supervise international M&A and PE deals, ensuring legal accuracy and strategic alignment with business objectives across various jurisdictions.
  • Strategic Legal Structuring: Develop legal frameworks for international ventures and intricate transactions, offering advice on risk management and legal strategies for cross-border operations.
  • Legal Team Leadership: Lead and nurture legal teams in Moscow, Dubai, and Cyprus, fostering a culture of excellence and continual enhancement.
  • Expert Legal Guidance: Apply deep knowledge of Russian and British law to tackle complex legal issues and ensure compliance with relevant laws in all operational areas.
  • Collaborate with external legal advisors to advance business aims.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Certification: Hold a law degree from a reputable institution; additional qualifications in international law are a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years in legal practice, focusing on international M&A and private equity endeavors.
  • Experience with Top 10 International Law Firms is mandatory.
  • International Expertise: Extensive background in structuring international initiatives and handling intricate transactions.
  • Legal Proficiency: In-depth understanding of Russian and British legal systems.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated capacity to guide and oversee a diverse legal team spread across different locations.
  • Language: Proficiency in both Russian and English, with outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
