This role is to manage the implementation and delivery of a range of project controls services to programme and directly supports the Associate Director (AD) Project Controls.

Hybrid working with requirements for client site work in UK and Cyprus.

Your responsibilities will include:

Working closely with client and team to establish projects control delivery measures for a medium/high complexity programme.Supporting the work to devise strategies, alternatives and recommendations for effective delivery solutions to meet client needs.Applying the specific project controls methods, techniques and tools defined by the AD for this programme.Assisting with implementing EVM and total cost management.Coordinating programme-wide regular project controls updates that inform upwards and downwards.Ensuring that all programme staff receive an appropriate orientation to the project controls guidelines.Compiling management reports, including associated metrics and added-value narratives, interpretations, and recommendations to support Board meetings and senior management reviews.Providing education, guidance, advice and coaching on project controls management to client colleagues.

Technical management expertise

Understanding of all aspects of project controls, how they complement each other and wider project delivery.Understanding of Mace Way (Control Centre) processes and recommended tools.Working knowledge of current methodologies and tools related to managing projects.Leading negotiations with third parties as project controls specialist.Being able to respond to client/stakeholder requests effectively and sensitively.Excellent attention to detail and able to validate and check data and reports, recording and reports produced, providing basic commentary and analysis.

Leadership and Behavioural qualities

Managing others – including delegating, coordinating, appraising, coaching, and develop/mentor employees with less experience.Persuading and influencing clients, consultants, suppliers and colleagues.Working with others to create and deliver persuasive presentations.Tackling problems that do not have an obvious solution.Representing Mace in a professional manner.

About you

You have a relevant university degree or equivalent with professional work experience in one or more specific disciplines in the programme, project or commercial management disciplines. You have progressed towards achievement of chartered status (or equivalent) and/or membership of a relevant professional institution e.g. APM, PMI. You have relevant CSCS Card. You have advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of Tools.

You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams. You will have a construction or project management background and be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.
