As a member of our R&D team, you will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge through continuous training and guidance, to research, prepare and engage in all aspects of writing new research, development and innovation proposals in EU funded R&D calls, ensuring high-quality, compelling bids are submitted to the European Commission (EC) in a timely manner in collaboration with international partners.

Qualifications & Experience

• Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in a scientific or engineering field.

• Minimum of 3 years of working experience in a similar previous position with a proven track record in winning EU funded R&D proposals in H2020, Horizon Europe, Digital Europe and/or EDF EU programmes (relevant evidence shall be provided in the candidate's CV).

• Excellent communicator with advanced verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English language.

• Excellent attention to detail with superb organisational, planning, coordination and time management skills.

• Dynamic, flexible and with a demonstrable feeling for innovation.

• Team collaboration and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work with minimum or no supervision.

• Ability to manage a variety of tasks, prioritise a heavy workload and meet targets.

• Strong analytical abilities with research analyses and evaluations.

• Experience of electronic communication tools, in particular Skype, Zoom, Teams, Webex.

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills and proficiency in MS Office.

• Project management skills. In particular, a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification will be considered as an important advantage.

• Must be an EU member state citizen.

• Ability to freely travel within Europe when required.

Job description

The successful candidate's duties are to identify and review all aspects of R&D calls of interest to the company, ensuring all required information is included in the final proposal to be submitted to the EC and/or to national R&D funding authorities. Proactively develop, onboard and manage a network of subject matter experts, identify and liaise with different stakeholders to formulate the best possible consortium in the context of EU calls. Manage virtual bid teams and inputs from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from partners from other international organisations. Define the scope of new project bids and onboard consortium partners. Lead storyboard sessions with stakeholders to invite them to join bid proposals. Perform continuous risk assessment and management throughout the bid lifecycle. Lead, co-lead and/or contribute to the writing of the proposal, both in terms of content and presentation. Prepare and manage the bid budget ensuring a balanced approach amongst partners. Ensure the timely delivery of compliant and professionally produced proposals ahead of EC defined timeframes. Arrange bid reviews both internally as well as externally with consortium partners prior to submission. Assist other R&D Program Managers/ Researchers and/or R&D Project Managers in developing and/or reviewing new proposals. Identify and re-work existing pre-written content where relevant. Be methodological and deliver completed proposals to the R&D Director well ahead of the submission deadline, escalating issues as required. Take responsibility for contributions to the successful compilation of R&D bids. Meet KPI targets.
