About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Developer to join our team at Emerald Zebra. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust backend systems, APIs, and databases using PHP and Laravel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement high-quality PHP code, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
  • Write and review unit tests using PHPUnit to ensure code reliability and maintainability.
  • Lead the integration of third-party services and APIs into existing PHP applications.
  • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level developers to foster a culture of continuous learning and code quality.
  • Design and architect complex PHP-based applications, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance optimization.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in PHP applications, optimizing server-side processes, database queries, and application workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless and high-performing web applications.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices across all PHP applications, ensuring data protection and secure authentication processes.
Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in PHP development, with a proven track record of leading and delivering complex web applications.
  • Deep expertise in PHP, with extensive experience in Laravel framework and object-oriented programming.
  • Extensive experience in designing and managing APIs and relational databases, including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • In-depth knowledge of web security best practices, including secure coding, data protection, and vulnerability management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable, and secure software.
  • English knowledge B2 minimum.
Nice-to-Have Skills

Proficiency in JavaScript is a plus, with experience in front-end frameworks like React, Vue.js, or Angular being beneficial.
