Role Description

The Group Chief Accountant will be reporting to the Director of Finance and will be responsible for managing the day-to-day finance and accounting operations, including entering journals, managing accounts receivable and payable, and other finance-related administration.

The Group Chief Accountant will ensure timely reconciliation and reporting of all financial statements and prepare monthly and annual consolidated and standalone financial statements for the Director and other key stakeholders as requested; and maintains fiscal records.

The candidate must be located in Cyprus.

Key Responsibilities


• Ensuring day-to-day transactions such as accounts payable, cash receipts and accounts receivable, credit card transactions, and payroll are recorded properly.


• Performing timely and accurate month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring that accounting schedules are updated and accurate.


• Ensuring proper revenue recognition under IFRS 15.


• Prepare monthly and yearly consolidated and standalone financial statements under IFRS of the Group and its Subsidiaries.


• Prepare monthly payroll reporting for the Cyprus Entity.


• Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.


• Ensure compliance with relevant Tax, SIC and VAT laws.


• Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulators in each jurisdiction.


• Keep up-to-date with regulatory changes across.


• Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams.


• Promote automation and digitalization in financial operations.

Qualifications & Skills


• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent) highly preferred.


• Minimum 5 years' experience in accounting/finance, with at least 2 years in a senior role, preferably in a multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction environment.


• Solid knowledge of IFRS and local tax/accounting frameworks in Cyprus and UAE.


• Proficiency in accounting/ERP software (preferably Xero) and excellent Microsoft Excel and administration skills.


• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.


• Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy.


• Superior data management and data analysis skills.


• Strong time management and organizational skills.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience in cross-border collaboration.
