Software Engineer

The Role:

We are seeking to recruit a passionate and self-motivated Software Engineer for our esteemed client, operating in the Fintech industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:

o Collaborate with product teams and other stakeholders within the company to implement and deploy technical solutions, as needed

o Take ownership and develop scalable and maintainable code

o Produce detailed developer stories which includes the required (when applicable) database design, interactive mock-ups and wireframes

o Develop, integrate and maintain securely developed REST APIs for cloud-based core banking system.

o Take ownership of software platforms and perform any required system installations, configurations, deployments and maintenance in relation to SDKs

o Build and maintain seamless integrations with third-party solutions, including Sumsub and other connectors.

o Liaise with third parties for guidance, deployments and coordination of releases which may include bug fixes.

o Follow up on issue resolution and documentation with vendors and internal teams.

o Carry out optimisation, installation, configurations updates and automation through the usage of tools such as schedulers and scripts.

o Monitor and troubleshoot integration issues, providing timely resolutions.

o Implement and maintain systems which allow leveraging of log information for monitoring/audit of functionalities.

o Build and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and produce / take ownership of technical procedures, release notes/ deployment architectures for all assigned applications.

o Execute changes in parameters, configurations and deployment of patches based on approved Change / Configuration Management policies.

o Conduct rigorous technical testing of delivered technical solutions, including performance testing, system integration testing, security testing and API integrations (as required) to ensure performance and reliability.

o Provide support and guidance for internal stakeholders using integrated systems.

o Support business in executing UATs.

Qualifications and Requirements:

o Fully proficient and articulate in English Language.

o Experience with Windows and Linux operating system environments.

o Experience with Incident Management and Release Management processes.

o Understanding of databases and queries on RDBMS systems including Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL for daily support and maintenance operations.

o Good understanding of TCP/IP, Routing, and Firewalling concepts.

o Familiarity with log monitoring tools.

o Strong experience in developing and integrating REST APIs.

o Proficiency in one or more programming languages ideally Powershell, Java or Python.

o Familiarity with cloud based core banking systems is highly advantageous.

o Experience with SDKs and their integration.

o Knowledge of version control systems like Git.

o Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Postman).

o Familiarity with secure development standards e.g. as per various standards issued under OWASP guidance.

o Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and issue resolution.

o Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

o An eye for UI/UX design is a plus.

o Proficiency in designing interfaces and building clickable prototypes.
