The Company

A regulated financial services firm operating in the equities, CFDs, FX, and crypto space. Established over a decade ago, the company provides brokerage and trading services and emphasizes a culture of authenticity, growth, and client alignment.

The Role

  • A hands-on Senior Risk Officer is needed to support the Head of Risk in designing, maintaining, and improving the firm's risk framework. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of regulatory requirements (EU/CySEC/ESMA), excellent project management skills, and the ability to turn policies into daily operational routines.
  • Responsibilities include coordinating risk initiatives, maintaining risk metrics, preparing management materials, and supporting audits and regulatory tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain Risk Management Policy, Trading Book & Hedging Policy, and related procedures.
  • Support annual ICARA processes (capital/liquidity assessments, stress testing, wind-down planning).
  • Coordinate DORA-related activities (risk register, incident logging, third-party controls).
  • Assist with exposure/limit monitoring and escalation.
  • Review risk metrics (e.g., VaR/CVaR).
  • Implement stress/scenario testing and produce management commentary.
  • Conduct third-party risk assessments and maintain outsourcing registers.
  • Manage trackers for audits, remediation, policies, and systems.
  • Coordinate cross-department deliverables with clear timelines.
  • Prepare packs for committees and boards.
  • Maintain structured evidence repositories.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years in risk or audit at a regulated financial firm.
  • Knowledge of ICARA, IFR/IFD, MiFID II, EMIR, DORA.
  • Strong finance fundamentals (equities, accounting basics, probability, time-series, derivatives).
  • Project management skills.
  • Strong Excel skills and clear communication.
