Job Title: IT Technician (Level 1–2)
Department: IT
Role Summary
The IT Technician (Level 1–2) provides first- and second-line technical support to internal users. The role is suitable for a recent university graduate or a candidate with 1–2 years of hands-on IT support experience. The position focuses on user support, endpoint management, basic cloud administration, and issue resolution under established procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-User Support (Level 1–2).
- Provide first-line technical support for laptops, operating systems, and standard business applications.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Escalate unresolved issues to the Head of IT or external vendors when required.
- Track, document, and resolve support tickets in a timely manner.
Systems & Access Management:
- Create, modify, and disable user accounts and access rights following access control procedures.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding activities (device setup, access provisioning, asset tracking).
- Support basic identity and access management tasks.
- Cloud & Infrastructure Support.
- Assist with basic administration of cloud-hosted systems (primarily AWS-based services).
- Monitor system alerts and report incidents or anomalies.
- Perform routine checks and maintenance tasks as instructed.
Security & Compliance Support:
- Follow IT security policies and procedures.
- Assist with endpoint security tasks (Antivirus checks, Patching, Updates).
- Report suspected security incidents to the Head of IT immediately.
- Maintain accurate IT documentation, asset management, user guides, and support procedures.
- Assist with audits and compliance-related information requests.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- or 1–2 years of experience in an IT support or helpdesk role.
- Excellent command of the English language, including grammar and vocabulary.
- Basic knowledge of Windows OS (Linux will be considered as an advantage).
- Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 or similar productivity platforms.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN concepts).
Desirable Skills:
- Exposure to AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Experience with ticketing systems and IT documentation.
- Awareness of IT security best practices (eg.: OWASP TOP 10, ISO:27001).
