Project Overview

Our enterprise backoffice platform is a critical internal system managing complex business operations across multiple domains. The platform currently consists of:

Codebase: 4000+ TypeScript files in a monorepo structure

Architecture: React SPA frontend + NestJS GraphQL backend + PostgreSQL database

Users: Internal teams managing data, permissions, reporting, and business workflows

Scale: High-complexity RBAC with multiple role hierarchies and permission matrices

The platform has evolved over 6+ years and now requires strategic technical improvements to maintain velocity and reduce operational bugs, particularly in the permission system and UI consistency.

Key Responsibilities:

Platform Architecture & Refactoring

Refactor complex permission system to simplify role hierarchy and reduce security bugs

Unify design systems by migrating from Tailwind CSS to Chakra UI-based components

Establish code architecture patterns and best practices

Performance Optimization

Optimize GraphQL queries, implement query fragmentation and caching strategies

Implement bundle splitting and lazy loading to reduce page load time

Profile and improve rendering performance in complex SPAs

Quality & Testing

Implement test strategies for unit, integration, and e2e scenarios

Resolve TypeScript strict mode violations and linting errors

Establish code review standards and quality gates

Technical Leadership

Document architectural decisions and migration strategies

Mentor team members on best practices and code quality

Drive technical discussions and propose pragmatic solutions

Requirements:

TypeScript - Expert level, complex types, strict mode

React - Hooks, performance optimization, large SPAs

NestJS - DI, decorators, modules, GraphQL integration

GraphQL - Client & server, query optimization, schema design

Backoffice/Admin systems - Complex RBAC, data management

Testing - Jest, React Testing Library, test strategies

Proven experience - Multiple production applications in your portfolio

Nice to have:

PostgreSQL / Redis understanding

Monorepo tools (Nx, Turborepo)

Bundling configuration

CI/CD pipelines

Docker / Kubernetes (Helm)

Security (OWASP, Okta/FreeIPA)
