We are currently recruiting for a Head of Southern Europe on a full-time, permanent basis. The preferred location of this role would be Cyprus but we are open to it being based in Romania also.

This role is accountable for the successful implementation of ACCA's strategy in Southern Europe, in accordance with established policies, agreed key performance indicators and targets.  A key focus of the role is to lead the identification and development of partnerships with employers, education providers, the local profession and other stakeholders within the market and regionally to achieve ACCA's growth, brand and recognition objectives. ​

The Job

Reporting to the Head of Europe, this role:

  • Provides direction and vision internally and externally to drive the delivery of ACCA's strategy and the long-term strategic positioning of the ACCA brand within the market
  • Leads the strategic development of the market to grow the business and lay the foundations for future growth
  • Owns and drives the delivery of key performance indicators and targets for the market
  • Takes a leadership role in developing relationships with key partners, individuals and influential groups to enhance business performance, develop the profession, progress the long-term positioning of the brand and maintain recognition status
  • Works collaboratively with stakeholders throughout the global organisation to leverage global solutions and lead the development of local variants where agreed
  • Ensures clear communication of market insights and requirements to global teams to enhance value propositions and leverage growth opportunities
  • Leads the development and implementation of ACCA's communities approach within the market to enhance our offering to members and the ecosystem
  • Leads the delivery of member engagement to build advocacy, trust and reputation
  • Leads and inspires the market team by role modelling the ACCA behaviours, building employee engagement, promoting diversity and inclusion and building understanding of ACCA culture and values
  • Supports and sponsors the roadmap of ACCA's transformation, embracing new ways of working and leveraging these to develop and enhance market performance
  • Takes personal legal, regulatory and/or financial responsibility for ACCA's operations in-country as required by local legislation
  • Prepares and manages budget/s for the development, administration, and activities of ACCA in the market and submits periodic reports as required
  • Ensures that ACCA's policies and procedures are embedded within the market and that relevant local legal and regulatory requirements are met.

The Person

  • Demonstrable experience of providing leadership and direction in a senior role
  • In depth understanding of the local business environment and accounting community
  • Strategic thinking and ability to translate strategy into long-term business plans
  • Strong track record of leading and inspiring teams to deliver results
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to build long term, high quality, trusted relationships up to and including board level
  • Advanced collaborative influencing and communication skills
  • Highly motivated, proactive and enthusiastic with the ability to plan and lead programmes of work to deliver outcomes and targets
  • Commercially orientated and results driven with proven ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
