The successful candidate will be based in Athens, working from our premises in Piraeus and collaborating closely with CyRIC's multidisciplinary teams across Cyprus and Greece. This role offers the opportunity to engage with cutting-edge R&D in electronics, automation, and embedded systems, contributing to the development of innovative prototypes and real-world solutions.

We're looking for a
passionate and creative Embedded Engineer
to join our growing team

What You'll Do

As a key team member, you'll work on a wide range of exciting projects—from
rapid prototypes
to
large-scale EU research initiatives
—in fields like
smart cities, environmental monitoring, health & safety
, and more.

Your core responsibilities:

• Design and build functional prototypes for industrial and electronics projects
• Develop PCBs and manage manufacturing processes
• Write, test, and debug embedded firmware (C/C++)
• Integrate microcontrollers, sensors, and communication modules
• Collaborate with international partners on European research projects

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone curious, hands-on, and ready to solve meaningful technical challenges. Ideally, you have:

• MSc/MEng/Dipl.-Ing in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering
• Experience with
  PCB design
  (bonus if with Altium)
• Hands-on knowledge of
  microcontrollers
  (ESP32, STM32, Arduino, etc.)
• Solid C/C++ skills for embedded development
• Understanding of
  communication protocols
  (SPI, UART, I2C)
• Familiarity with
  electronics lab tools
  (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.)
• Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills

Bonus Points For:

• Experience with
  Bluetooth, LoRa/LoRaWAN
• Python scripting
  and Linux systems
• Background in
  H2020, Horizon Europe, or Cyprus RIF-funded projects

Languages

• Fluent in English and/or Greek (spoken & written)
