The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Solutions Architect to join our innovative team and lead the design and development of cutting-edge software solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role in large-scale EU-funded R&D projects, driving the translation of business requirements into robust, scalable, and future-proof architectures that address complex societal, environmental, and industrial challenges.

This position requires a strong background in software development and architecture design (minimum 7 years), with proven expertise in multi-tier/layer architectures and a track record of delivering innovative, enterprise-grade solutions.

Key responsibilities

As a Software Solutions Architect, you will:

• Lead system architecture design, translating business requirements into a logical architecture aligned with project objectives and technical frameworks.
• Define integration strategies, infrastructure design, and cloud-based solutions that are scalable and research-ready, pushing the boundaries of technological innovation.
• Provide technical leadership during implementation, mentoring development teams and ensuring industry best practices are followed.
• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, tools, and platforms to meet project needs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Europe (academic, industrial, and governmental) to ensure smooth coordination and the successful execution of R&D project goals.
• Oversee implementation methodology and deployment, ensuring alignment with the broader technical vision of each project.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams during implementation.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and deliverables for EU funding agencies.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and best practices in software architecture.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (PhD or advanced degrees a plus).
• 7+ years of experience in software development and software solution architecture.
• Proven track record in enterprise-level architecture, from concept to deployment, aligning solutions with business strategy.
• Extensive expertise in microservices, distributed systems, and cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft technologies (.NET, Azure, related frameworks).
• Solid knowledge of databases (relational DBMS and NoSQL).
• Hands-on experience with containerization (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Familiarity with message brokers and asynchronous communication.
• Strong understanding of SOA, event-driven, and interoperability architectures.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills in English (Greek an advantage).
• Certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect or AWS Solutions Architect are highly desirable.

What we Offer

• Attractive annual gross salary: €30,000 – €45,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
