As a Trading System Analyst at Pepperstone, you will have a crucial role in delivering top-notch business solutions in an Agile environment. Your efforts will greatly contribute to informed decision-making for our key stakeholders. You will be responsible for fostering clear and open communication among business teams, developers, product owners, and product managers to ensure smooth project delivery.

In addition, you may also take on leadership responsibilities as needed to support the squad's rhythm. Your contributions will strengthen our solutions and effectively meet the information technology needs of both Pepperstone and our valued customers.

As our System Analyst - Trading, your key responsibilities include, but not limited to.

  • Supporting Agile teams in delivering high-quality technical solutions for key stakeholders within Pepperstone's Trading domain
  • Engaging with product, vendors, and subject matter experts to identify, develop, document, analyze, validate, and endorse requirements, demonstrating Agile behaviors
  • Providing ongoing reporting and updates to both business and technical stakeholders
  • Consulting with the business, product managers, and product owners to shape the product backlog, using Agile practices to support prioritization based on business value
  • Collaborating with product managers and key stakeholders to assess solution options and provide recommendations
  • Eliciting initial requirements and facilitating technical solutions for API development and backend integration with different systems
  • Providing multi-disciplinary teams with clarity on epics, user stories, business-driven acceptance criteria, and test cases
  • Assisting with the elaboration of user stories and requirements, supporting team members with their tasks as needed
  • Assisting with the planning of demos and product/system testing
  • Participating in and facilitating (where required) relevant Agile ceremonies and rituals, such as Backlog Refinement, Daily Stand-ups, Iteration/Release Planning, Showcases/Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and Workshops
  • Participating in the creation of low or high-fidelity prototypes
  • Supporting release and change management activities by performing impact analysis and contributing to planning
  • Having an understanding of trading, FIX protocol, and order lifecycle is considered an advantage

About You

  • Experienced as a dynamic and application-focused System Analyst in a similar industry or retail, wealth management with a strong command of Agile BA principles
  • Proven expertise in working with backend applications, APIs, and integrations
  • Track record of successfully supporting the development of digital products in an IT environment as a system analyst
  • Skilled at building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, ensuring ongoing communication, and providing support when needed
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct system analysis in an Agile environment, including requirement gathering, documentation, and management
  • Experience with various types of requirements, including business, stakeholder, functional, non-functional, and transition requirements
  • Hands-on experience in backlog management using task-tracking tools, such as Jira
  • Strong functional and conceptual understanding of technology and logic
  • Highly proficient in creative problem-solving, showing initiative, and leveraging an analytical and growth mindset
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, adapting communication style accordingly
