Power and Datacenters Engineer sought by a well-established Telecommunications provider in Nicosia to oversee power consumption and implement cost-saving strategies.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Monitor electricity/power market developments in Cyprus and relevant government policies and regulations.
  • Provide insight to management to define long-term power savings strategy and assist in its implementation.
  • Oversee cost savings via green energy projects and suggest new initiatives.
  • Plan and monitor green energy projects and company policies.
  • Budget operational expenditure concerning power consumption based on current and future needs.
  • Keep records on power consumption and cost of all power-consuming nodes of the network.
  • Collect, approve, and follow up on charges from EAC and other alternative power suppliers.
  • Plan and dimension power requirements for all telecoms nodes, including data centers.
  • Produce performance reports of data centers' power consumption and suggest cost optimization methodologies.
  • Monitor external contractors involving power-related works at data centers and telecoms nodes.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders on power issues and projects.
Candidate Profile
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Capacity for independent decision-making, multitasking, and flexibility.
  • Proficiency in Greek and English languages.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, honesty, and reliability.
  • Proactive and self-initiating work approach.
