As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our software development and production infrastructure. Your expertise will be instrumental in transitioning our Middleware Layer (including ACE, API-C, and MQ) to a containerized platform.

Here are the key responsibilities and qualifications for this role:

Responsibilities:

1. Consultation and Alignment:

o Collaborate with the MW team and EA to understand the requirements of

containerizing our middleware layer.

o Provide insights into platform alternatives, risks, and operational impact.

o Advise on best and most cost-effective solution.

2. Mentoring and Guidance:

o Mentor software developers, helping them gain experience and assume DevOps responsibilities.

3. Solution Deployment:

o Manage the installation and configuration of the candidate platforms as well as the final solution.

o Plan and break down the stages for the overall transition to the final solution.

o Define success criteria for POCs and present the results to stakeholders.

4. Automation and Deployment:

o Help set up CI/CD or modify our existing solution accordingly (Azure DevOps).

o Write code and script updates, resolving any errors that may arise.

5. Maintenance and Performance:

o Oversee routine maintenance procedures and perform diagnostic tests.

o Document processes and monitor performance metrics.

o Advise on scaling and other performance-related settings.

6. Best Practices:

o Adhere to best practices in network administration and cybersecurity.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, information technology, information systems, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in containerization technologies like Docker.
  • Skills in utilising orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
  • Experience in at least one cloud solution platform.
  • Experience in at least one CI/CD tool.
  • Extensive experience in DevOps engineering.
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python and Java, including writing code and scripts.
  • Should embrace team spirit and be able to work as part of multicultural team.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in both verbal and written communication.
  • Installation and configuration of container solutions.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Debugging and ensuring smooth software deployment through script updates and diagnostics.
  • Proficient in documenting processes and monitoring performance metric
