The Head of the Risk Management department is responsible for identifying, evaluating and managing the risks that the Company could encounter at any given time. The Risk Manager candidate must devote in developing the most effective risk management framework that works towards optimum risk control, in order to ensure compliance with the Company's policies and procedures and the applicable legal framework. The Head of the Department shall be responsible for applying appropriate methods and procedures that will allow the identification, determination, evaluation, and control of the extent of the risk exposures, which arise as a result of the activities of the Company. The Risk Manager should provide hands-on development of risk models which involve among others the market, credit and operational risk, assure controls are operating effectively, and provide analytical support.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Risk Management function of the Company.
  • Plan, design, and implement the overall risk management processes and update the Risk Management Framework of the Company.
  • Risk identification and assessment, which involves analyzing risks as well as identifying, describing and measuring the risks affecting the business and capturing these in a risk register.
  • Develop risk mitigation measures for all risks that the Company is exposed to.
  • Assess, evaluate and, where required, challenge decisions or proposed changes that affect company's risk exposure.
  • Recommending and setting of internal risk controls for day-to-day management of business.
  • Risk reporting obligations shall include the Annual Risk Management Report, the IFR quarterly reporting, the ICARA Report, Risk-based Supervision Framework and other reports as required by the regulator.
  • Advising management on ways to mitigate risks and improve processes and procedures as well as advising management and the Board on any new emerging risks and their impact on the Company.
  • Raise risk awareness and assign accountability to department heads to ensure they are aware of risks relevant to their area of the business and to individuals to explain their accountability for individual risks and controls.
  • Regular review of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan.
  • Liaise with the Compliance Officer, the CFO and the Dealing department for the regulatory requirements and reporting.
  • Liaise with the MLRO on the review of Customer Risk Assessment (CRA) methodology and ML/FT Business Risk Assessment (BRA).
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors in order to identify new risks and areas of improvement.
  • Provide support, education and training to staff to build risk awareness within the organization.
  • Review of policies and procedures in conjunction with the Compliance Officer and upper management.
  • Assist in drafting regulatory reports and any other ad-hoc risk management reports as required by the regulator.

Who you are:

  • Graduate degree in fields like Risk Management, Accounting, Business Management/Administration, Mathematics, or Economics.
  • Business experience of 2-3 years in the similar role.
  • Deep understanding of the vertical market of the CFDs industry. Cysec Advanced Certificate is required.
  • High numerical and analytical skills
  • High attention to detail, planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to understand broader business issues
  • Communication and presentation skills
