About the position

Hapic is seeking a Chief Compliance Officer & Anti-Money Laundering Reporting Officer (AMLRO).

The most successful candidate will lead the profile team and be responsible for developing and executing a compliance strategy tied to the company's business objectives.

Essential for our company's growth and competitiveness, the position plays a crucial role in the legal and onboarding pole.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing compliance, AML/CFT, and sanctions programs, including internal policies and procedures.
  • Evaluation, examination and submission of STRs/SARs to the relevant authority.
  • Conducting AML/CFT and sanctions risk assessments, enterprise-wide risk assessment.
  • Managing day-to-day operations of the AML/CFT and compliance department, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the implemented internal policies and procedures.
  • Providing advice and guidance to the Board of Directors and employees concerning applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Liaising with authorities, partners, regulators, and external and internal stakeholders on AML and CFT-related matters.
  • Developing and implementing training programs to ensure employees' awareness of AML/CFT requirements.
  • Conducting and overseeing internal reviews or audits periodically to ensure that compliance procedures are followed.
  • Conducting or directing the internal investigation of compliance issues.
  • Evaluating business activities to discover and assess compliance risk.
  • Working cooperatively with external auditors when needed.
  • Coming up with effective plans to manage a crisis or compliance violation.
  • Analyzing marketing materials and ongoing monitoring of the company's website for compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Reception and processing of customer complaints.
  • Preparation and submission of regulatory and ad-hoc reports to the Central Bank of Cyprus and other authorities.
  • Implementation of suitable compliance controls for new business initiatives and products.
  • Providing an effective due diligence and monitoring program for third parties, suppliers, and customers.
  • Performing other duties by the requirements of the Directive of the Central Bank of Cyprus.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry guidelines
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Up-to-date with industry and regulatory changes and professional standards.
  • Professional certifications in compliance and /or AML are highly desirable (CySec, CAMS, etc.).
