Compliance Officer

Our client is seeking a skilled Compliance Officer to oversee all compliance-related activities in Cyprus. This role is critical in ensuring that the firm adheres to regulatory requirements and internal policies while fostering a culture of compliance throughout the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

Developing Compliance Frameworks

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance policies and procedures in line with local and international regulatory requirements.

Monitoring Operations

They will monitor and assess the firm's operations to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to financial services.

Conducting Compliance Assessments

The Compliance Officer will conduct regular compliance assessments and audits to identify potential risks and recommend corrective actions.

Providing Guidance and Training

They will provide guidance and training to staff on compliance issues and promote a culture of integrity and compliance within the organization.

Liaising with Regulatory Authorities

The successful candidate will liaise with regulatory authorities, ensuring timely submission of reports and responses to inquiries.

Staying Up-to-Date

They will stay updated on changes in legislation and regulations, analyzing their impact on the firm and adjusting policies as necessary.

Regulatory Filings

The Compliance Officer will assist with the preparation and submission of regulatory filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; a professional compliance or legal qualification is advantageous.

They should have significant experience (5+ years) in compliance within the financial services sector, preferably in Cyprus.

Key Skills and Qualities

The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of local and European regulatory frameworks affecting the financial industry.

They will possess excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to assess complex regulatory requirements.
