The
Senior Accountant
is responsible for the full range of accounting activities, including bookkeeping, tax reporting, and the preparation of monthly management reports. The role also involves preparing VAT returns and payroll, as well as supporting internal and external audits.

Your Tasks

  • Record and process day-to-day financial transactions accurately and timely
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure correct classification of transactions
  • Process supplier invoices and payments in line with company policies
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure supporting documentation is available
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with Cyprus tax regulations
  • Preparation of other tax filings (e.g. VIES, IR7)
  • Record monthly payroll and related social insurance costs accurately
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Ensure accurate accruals, prepayments, and cut-off of income and expenses
  • Ensure adherence to company financial policies and internal controls
  • Coordinate with other departments to gather financial data
  • Collaborate with Group Finance as needed for reporting and compliance matters

Your Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • LCCI Higher or CAT qualification (additional certifications will be considered an advantage)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting roles, including at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory position
  • Strong knowledge of VAT, corporation tax and IFRS
  • Experience with SAP systems
  • International company experience
  • Fluent in English and Greek (spoken and written)
  • Fluent communication skills
  • Payroll preparation experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of IBM Cognos is an asset
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Able to work closely with local and regional business leaders, functional heads, and corporate headquarters.
