Computer Science TLF Teacher

Position Summary 

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Computer Science Teacher to join our TLF program. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Computer Science education, fostering technological curiosity, and inspiring students to excel in a digital-first world. This role also includes contributing to STEM-focused extracurricular activities such as coding, AI and robotics clubs.

General responsibilities:

• Teach Computer Science in the IB Diploma Programme (DP) and MYP Design: Deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons aligned with the IB philosophy and curriculum requirements.
• Curriculum Development: Design and implement a robust Computer Science and Design curriculum that challenges students to develop skills in programming, systems design, and emerging technologies.
• Student Assessment: Develop and administer formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support student growth and achievement.
• Technology Integration: Promote the integration of technology into learning experiences, enhancing digital literacy and responsible use of technology.
• Online Safety and Digital Citizenship: Educate students on online safety and responsible digital citizenship as part of the school's safeguarding and child protection policies.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other subject teachers to create interdisciplinary projects that enrich student learning and technological application.
• STEM Extracurricular Activities: Lead and support technology-focused clubs such as Coding, Robotics, and technology competitions.
• Mentorship and Guidance: Support students in exploring careers in technology and guide them in project-based learning experiences.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Technology Education, or a related field (required by the Cyprus Ministry of Education).
• 7+ years of teaching experience in Computer Science, with a strong preference for IB MYP and/or DP experience.
• Proven track record of academic success and innovative teaching practices.
• Strong understanding of the IB philosophy and inquiry-based learning methodologies.
• Digital Competency: Proficiency in digital tools and platforms that enhance teaching and learning.
• Collaboration Skills: Ability to work effectively within a diverse team of educators.
• Communication Skills: Fluent in English (C2 level); additional languages are a plus.
• Leadership and Mentorship: Capacity to inspire students and support colleagues in technology integration.

Working Days/hours: 

Monday to Friday, 8:00-16:00

Recruitment process:

1. Hiring team Panel interview (30 minutes).
2. Trial lesson (60 minutes). 
3. Interview with the Head of School, principal of Secondary and Faculty Leader (30 minutes).
