Company Description

EPOS-Iasis, R&D, a Cyprus-based research-oriented SME engaged with major local and European academic centers, invites qualified and highly motivated young researchers to express their interest for a 24-month joint Fellowship. The employment scheme covers competitive research activities of programs funded by the Cyprus Research and Innovation Foundation and the European Commission Horizon Europe Program. The research projects involve transformation of human stem cells to therapeutic and sensing systems for primary and metastatic brain malignancies for both in vitro and in vivo applications. The projects further include mechanistic analysis of the theranostic attributes of circulating ccancer biomarkers epitomised by Extracellular Vesicles and Exosomes.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Post-doctoral Fellowship in Cell-based Theranostics located in Nicosia. The Post-doctoral Fellow will be responsible for conducting advanced research, performing laboratory experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to the development of innovative theranostic solutions. Additionally, the Fellow will engage in project management and reporting activities as well as mentoring junior researchers.

Qualifications

The candidate is expected to be a highly-motivated individual with proven capability to work in a demanding inter-disciplinary and inter-sectoral environment and eager to be actively engaged in joint training activities. Minimal requirements include,

·      A PhD degree in Cellular / Molecular Cancer Biology, Biotechnology, Molecular Pharmacology, or related field. Candidates with MSc and substantial related research experience could also be considered.

·      Essential post-doctoral (or equivalent) research work in projects related to Cancer Biology and Therapeutics including Genetic Engineering/Synthetic Biology; handling and analysis of Extracellular Vesicles (ECVs) and exosomes (EXs); Stem Cell technologies; Molecular Pathway analysis and tissue handling and processing techniques.

·      Previous experience with laboratory animal handling. Experience with invasive techniques and brain interventions in small rodents will be favorably considered.

·      Very good command on advanced optical imaging techniques, including spectrophotometry, confocal microscopy and in vivo imaging technologies.

·      Excellent command on both written and spoken English.

·      Proven capability of scientific writing
