Manager – Accounting Services

The Role:

We are seeking to recruit a passionate and self-motivated professional for the position of Manager – Accounting Services in our office in Nicosia.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the daily operations of the Accounting Services team, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time, while supporting the Department Head in achieving departmental objectives.
  • Tracking the progress of financial and accounting objectives.
  • Reconciling and reviewing General Ledger accounts.
  • Preparing and reviewing Management accounts, VAT, and VIES reports, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to the Authorities.
  • Verifying and maintaining financial records and transactions.
  • Fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and professional development within the team.
  • Planning, assigning and reviewing work.
  • Supervising, coaching and supporting the Accountants within the Department.
  • Assisting the Department Head with the preparation and monitoring of the Department's budget.
  • Overseeing team performance, including interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, appraising, rewarding, and addressing performance issues.
  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Ensuring effective accounting controls through regular review of policies and procedures and compliance with applicable financial and legal requirements.
  • Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Contributing to the broader mission of the Accounting Department by delivering results aligned with Company's objectives.
  • Analyzing financial information and summarizing financial status.
  • Identifying errors and opportunities for process improvements, recommending and implementing changes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and service quality.
  • Providing input into the Department's goal setting process.
  • As needed, assist with other Accounting projects.
  • Reporting to the Principal/Senior Management, depending on the projects assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements
:

  • Qualified ACCA/ACA (must).
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Prior experience in the services industry (Big 4/medium firms) strongly preferred, including experience in a supervisory/managerial position.
  • University degree in Accounting / Finance or any other related field.
  • Knowledge in operating accounting software's will be considered as an advantage.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel/Word.
  • Excellent knowledge of Greek and English.
  • Strong analytical, interpretative and communication skills.
  • Highly motivated.
  • Organised, focused and diligent, in executing the projects and/or assigning tasks.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Experienced in working under pressure and shifting priorities as tasks come in.
  • Positive can-do attitude, highly committed personality.
