SENIOR ACCOUNTANT – HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY (RESTAURANTS & BARS)

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and timely financial records, including general ledger, journals, and subsidiary accounts.
  • Process bank payments, oversee cash management, and perform monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Monitor accounts receivable, issue invoices promptly, and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Manage accounts payable; ensure timely payment of invoices, and perform reconciliations.
  • Communicate and coordinate regularly with banking institutions for various financial needs.
  • Support annual audits by providing necessary documentation and acting as a primary liaison with auditors.
  • Participate in the preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns.
  • Collaborate with management to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Stay updated with industry-specific financial regulations and ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate with other departments to streamline operations and financial processes.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields; Master's degree or CPA will be considered a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience in an accounting role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • Proficient in advanced Excel functions and familiarity with accounting software.
  • Strong understanding of the unique financial challenges and requirements of the hospitality sector, particularly restaurants and bars.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience with VAT and other taxation relevant to the hospitality industry is essential.

  • Experience or familiarity with inventory management and cost analysis is a plus.
