Salary:
€30,000 – 45,000 gross per annum (depending on experience and qualifications)

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality backend systems using object-oriented languages (e.g. Java, PHP)
  • Write and consume RESTful APIs for internal and external integrations
  • Collaborate on microservices architecture and contribute to scalable, reliable software solutions
  • Participate in code reviews and enforce best practices for maintainability, performance, and quality
  • Work within Agile/Scrum environments, collaborating closely with product, QA, and DevOps teams
  • Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles to ensure robust code and system reliability
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of professional software development experience using Java
  • Solid understanding of software design principles, design patterns, and clean coding standards
  • Experience with frameworks such as Laravel, Spring Boot, or Quarkus
  • Familiarity with relational databases (e.g. MySQL/MariaDB) and NoSQL systems (e.g. MongoDB)
  • Hands-on experience with message queue systems like RabbitMQ or Kafka
  • Comfortable working in Linux/Unix environments and using CLI tools
  • Proficient with version control systems such as Git
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and strong debugging skills
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of containerized environments and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation
  • Exposure to tools like Redis, ELK Stack, or Prometheus
  • Familiarity with telecom protocols (e.g. SIP, SMPP, WebRTC) or CPaaS architecture
  • Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Awareness of coding best practices for high-volume, enterprise-grade applications
