HR Generalist

Hudson Group is an international retailer and distributor primarily involved in the sport and fashion wear sectors. The Group's head office is in Malta but is also present through offices in Italy, Cyprus, Morocco, Nigeria and Algeria.

Though Hudson Holdings was founded in 2006, the Group's roots reach as far back as 1987 when the first pair of NIKE was sold in Malta.

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable, trustworthy, and hands-on HR Generalist to join our team in Nicosia. This role will be the sole HR presence in Cyprus & Greece, supported remotely by our HQ team.

The position is highly operational and people-facing, with a strong focus on employee relations, HR compliance, and supporting the opening of new stores and projects. While most recruitment is handled through agencies and labour brokers, the HR Generalist will need the capability to directly manage hiring when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary HR point of contact for Cyprus & Greece operations.
• Manage employee relations cases end-to-end, including disciplinary hearings, grievances, and shop-floor issues.
• Support the business with store openings and new projects, ensuring HR readiness and compliance.
• Oversee recruitment processes in partnership with agencies and labour brokers, with direct hiring where required.
• Provide guidance, training, and support to line managers on HR policies, employee management, and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with Cypriot and Greek labour laws, and company HR policies.
• Manage HR administration, contracts, and personnel files, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
• Partner closely with HQ to roll out HR projects, initiatives, and reporting requirements.

About You

• Experienced HR Generalist with exposure to Retail or FMCG operations.
• Strong employee relations expertise with confidence managing shop-floor disciplinary matters.
• Knowledge of Cypriot and Greek labour law is essential; knowledge of Cypriot and Greek employment practices an advantage.
• Comfortable being a "one-person HR function", with support from HQ but owning operations locally.
• Senior enough to be credible with leadership, yet operational and hands-on to manage day-to-day HR.
• Highly reliable, trustworthy, and resilient, with strong problem-solving skills.
• Flexible, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, growing environment.
