We're looking for a highly motivated and responsible Group Health & Safety Officer to join our team in Larnaca, Cyprus. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a robust health and safety management system that ensures a secure and healthy work environment for all employees, visitors, and contractors. This role requires a proactive approach to risk management, a thorough understanding of local and international H&S regulations, and the ability to foster a strong safety-first culture.

Primary Responsibilities

• Create, update, and enforce company-wide Health & Safety Management System in alignment with Cyprus and European Union legislation. This includes fire safety, emergency preparedness, and general workplace safety protocols.
  

• Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments at all HFM locations in Cyprus to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues. Recommend and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  

• Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive risk assessments, safe systems of work (SSOW), and method statements.
  

• Organize and deliver H&S training sessions and workshops for all employees. Promote awareness through campaigns, posters, and regular communication to foster a proactive safety culture.
  

• Record and Investigate all workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses. Determine root causes and implement measures to prevent recurrence. Maintain accurate records and reports of all incidents.
  

• Ensure the company complies with all relevant legal standards, including those set by the Cyprus Department of Labour Inspection. Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits.
  

• Support the development and implementation of emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and first aid protocols. Ensure all necessary safety equipment is available and in good working order.
  

• Support and assist in the development of the above responsibilities for overseas locations in co-ordination with external health & safety vendors and consultants
  

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field. Professional certifications like NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) or IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) or CPC (Cyprus Productivity Center) Training program are highly desirable.
  

• Proven experience as a Health & Safety Officer, preferably in a corporate or office-based environment.
  

• In-depth knowledge of Cypriot and EU occupational health and safety laws, regulations, and best practices.
  

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify risks and develop effective solutions.
  

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to train employees and collaborate with different departments.
  

• Proficient in using relevant software for reporting and record-keeping.
  

• Fluency in Greek and English is essential.
  

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with a strong sense of responsibility and integrity.
