The Junior Accountant supports the Finance Department by ensuring accurate recording of transactions, assisting in reconciliations, and contributing to the timely preparation of financial reports. This role is designed to provide hands-on accounting experience and to support career growth within the finance function.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement software solutions based on defined technical specifications and architecture guidelines.
  • Participate in translating functional requirements into clear, maintainable technical implementations.
  • Design, develop, and configure software modules and integrations with other systems.
  • Maintain and enhance existing applications by identifying and fixing bugs or performance issues.
  • Collaborate with other developers, QA, and designers to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Contribute to documentation of code, configuration, and user-facing features.
  • Follow and help improve internal development standards and best practices.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Good knowledge of the English language, both spoken and written.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and modeling (UML or similar).
  • Proficiency in C# and the .NET ecosystem (.NET Framework / .NET Core).
  • Strong experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular, React) for front-end development.
  • Experience with at least one major relational database (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle) and strong SQL skills.
  • Practical experience with software testing methods and tools (unit, integration, and system testing).
  • Hands-on experience with distributed version control systems (e.g., Git, TFS, or SV
    N).

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of accounting software (e.g. Navision, QuickBooks) is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Attention to detail with high accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Fluency in Greek and English.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality of financial records and comply with all company policies, accounting standards, and data protection regulations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely and successfully with local standards
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the local standards
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
