Senior Database Administrator
in our office in
Cyprus

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain MySQL / MariaDB / PostgreSQL databases across production and non-production environments.
• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot replication topologies (master-replica, Galera Cluster, streaming replication).
• Write and maintain SQL scripts and stored procedures for automation, data synchronization, and reporting tasks.
• Perform query optimization, index tuning, and performance analysis.
• Manage backup, recovery, and routine maintenance operations.
• Collaborate with developers and infrastructure teams to ensure database reliability, security, and performance.
• Monitor database health and proactively identify potential issues.
• Assist with database upgrades, migrations, and patching

Experience Requirements

• 2–4 years
  of hands-on experience with
  MySQL
  or
  MariaDB
  in production environments.
• Practical experience with
  PostgreSQL
  administration and performance tuning.
• Strong understanding of
  replication
  ,
  Galera Cluster
  , and
  high-availability
  configurations.
• Solid
  SQL scripting
  and
  query optimization
  skills.
• Familiarity with
  database monitoring
  and troubleshooting tools.
• Comfortable working in
  Linux environments
  with basic shell scripting skills.
• Exposure to
  Azure SQL Database
  or
  NoSQL technologies
  (e.g., Cosmos DB, MongoDB) is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Collaborative and proactive team player with good communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with ClickHouse, Redis, or other analytical or caching databases.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (Azure or GCP).
• Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automation, or infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
