Role in Brief

The DevOps Team is looking for someone with a passion for DevOps. You will be working closely with your team members as well as software developers and the Unix/Network team. DevOps primary concern is to manage and develop the release and deployment life cycle of in-house produced software which is then released on a weekly basis. DevOps at Albourne is all about Linux command line, Ansible, Jenkins, bash scripts, git and bare metal servers in data centers. The vast majority of your work will be taking place on command line in Linux, FreeBSD and OpenBSD environments. An open mind and willingness to learn is fundamental as tools and the needs of the developers are always evolving.

Insights to the Role

• Working on CD/CI pipelines for test and production environments (ansible, bash and jenkins)
• working with git and integration to ticketing system and internal systems
• Working with Developers to implement new release pipelines and improve existing processes.
• Design and develop the internal systems to minimize the risk of data loss or security breach
• Pro-actively seek ways to improve the maintainability and resilience of the internal systems
• Rotating work outside of normal business hours – coinciding with systems releases or urgent bug fixes

Who You Are

• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, programming
• Strong Linux/Unix command line/bash skills
• Strong ability to multi-task and set priorities
• Strong programming skills (Java and Go is an advantage)
• Strong aptitude for learning, and problem solving/trouble shooting
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• DBA experience, especially using PostgreSQL would be an advantage
• 3+ years using Linux command line and tools.
