Position Summary

As the most senior academic and operational leader of the school, the Executive Principal/Head of School plays a pivotal role in shaping the strategic vision, academic excellence, and operational success of the institution. This role combines visionary leadership with practical execution to foster a thriving, inclusive learning community for 800+ students and 200 team members. The Executive Principal/Head of School  ensures continued development and coherence across all educational programmes (IB, Waldorf, Montessori, Forest school programme), oversees the boarding provision, and leads the transition to the new campus. The successful candidate will also guide the school through key accreditations including CIS and BSA, while cultivating a culture of high expectations, collaboration, and wellbeing.

• Achieve CIS & BSA Accreditations: Prepare and lead the school through successful evaluations.

3 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Academic Excellence & Student Attainment

• Drive the continuous improvement of teaching, learning, and academic outcomes across all programmes (IB PYP, MYP, DP, CP, Waldorf, Montessori).
• Champion inclusive, inquiry-based, and evidence-informed educational practices.
• Monitor student performance data to ensure measurable growth.

Strategic & Organisational Leadership

• Provide visionary leadership aligned with the school's mission and values.
• Lead strategic initiatives that contribute to sustainable growth, innovation, and excellence.
• Co-develop and manage the school's budget with a focus on academic and operational priorities.

Programme Development & Accreditation

• Oversee the integration, compliance, and enhancement of all educational programmes.
• Lead the school's preparation for successful accreditation with CIS and the Boarding Schools' Association (BSA).
• Ensure effective collaboration with international accrediting and curriculum bodies.

Team Leadership 

• Build a high-performing leadership and teaching team by promoting professional growth, accountability, and wellbeing.
• Oversee recruitment, induction, performance reviews, and succession planning.
• Foster a strong culture of teamwork, shared purpose, and values-driven leadership.

Boarding Programme Growth & Excellence

• Oversee the development, staffing, and strategic expansion of the newly launched Boarding programme.
• Ensure a high standard of care, safety, and academic support for boarding students.

Campus Transition

• Lead operational and community planning related to the school's relocation to the new campus.
• Ensure academic and cultural continuity throughout the transition process.

Ministry Liaison & Legal Compliance

• Act as the primary liaison with the Cyprus Ministry of Education to ensure full compliance with legal requirements.
• Lead and manage school licensing, documentation, and adherence to national standards.

Culture, Wellbeing & Community Building

• Foster a school climate rooted in the core values of Love, Positivity, Respect, and Responsibility.
• Support student, team member, and parent wellbeing through inclusive practices and open communication.
• Represent the school with warmth and professionalism in all internal and external interactions.

4 CANDIDATE PROFILE

Professional Background & Experience

• Proven success in a senior leadership role within an international or independent school context.
• Demonstrated experience overseeing multiple academic programmes (IB, Waldorf, Montessori preferred).
• Familiarity with boarding provision and the operational demands of a growing school.
• Strong understanding of school accreditation processes (CIS, IB, BSA, or similar).
• Experience liaising with government or educational authorities (preferably in a private school setting).
