Albourne's office in Nicosia opened in 1998 and provides back office and IT services to the regulated companies of the Albourne group; it currently has over 320 dynamic employees and we are looking to have more to join our teams across various functions in 2025.
Role in Brief
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant with strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills to join our Finance Team. The accountant will be assisting the Senior Finance Manager with the day-to-day management of the finance function and ensuring the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of financial reporting and maintaining the appropriate systems of internal control.
Additionally, the accountant will be liaising with the external audit, tax and other financial advisors as appropriate in the preparation of statutory financial statements, regulatory reporting and tax filings.
Insights to the Role
- Creation of client sales invoices, preparation and reconciliation of billing schedules.
- Performs month end close including bank reconciliations, journal postings, depreciation, function cost allocations, monthly variance report and trial balance review.
- Ensures accuracy of the accounting transactions in the accounting system and maintains appropriate validation for all Balance Sheet items and their schedules.
- Carries out payroll reconciliations, preparation of payroll accruals and of the relevant monthly journals and ensure their payments.
- Prepares Financial projections and assists with Cashflow management.
- Provides support with year-end audit planning, liaison and completion of the statutory audit.
- Prepares financial information for the CySEC Regulatory reporting and maintains up to date knowledge on regulatory obligations and submissions.
- Participates in supplier contract review and ISO audit as appropriate.
- Completes and submits various finance related documentation such as Central Bank Quarterly surveys, CyStat surveys etc.
- Supports the group finance team during leaves of absence and handles any group finance ad hoc requests.
Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field, with a minimum of 3 years in a relevant role.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage large volumes of data accurately.
- Proficient in financial software and systems and advanced knowledge of excel.
- Analytical thinking to identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and enhance processes.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
- Strong grasp of financial reporting standards, taxation, and compliance.
- Eligible to work in Cyprus
- Attend Company and Function events upon request.
- Travel upon request
- Comply with terms of Albourne's Compliance Manuals
