Our client is a global leader in digital security focusing on privacy and protection, looking for a highly analytical and detail oriented Payments Optimization and Risk Manager to manage and enhance global payments performance. The successful candidate will be responsible for building, monitoring, and fine-tuning payment routing logic and risk rules to achieve optimal approval rates while reducing fraud, chargebacks, and associated costs.

You will collaborate closely with payments processors, risk vendors, product teams, and engineering to ensure our checkout experience and payments flow are frictionless, secure, and conversion-optimized. This is a key role in driving revenue efficiency and maintaining a robust risk posture across all payment methods and markets.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in payments, risk, fraud prevention, or e-commerce analytics.
  • Strong understanding of online payment processing, PSPs, acquirers, PCI compliance, and payment risk tools.
  • Experience with payment routing platforms and fraud management systems such as Visa Cybersource and Forter.
  • Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, SQL, BI tools, or payment dashboards.
  • Ability to interpret approval codes and error responses from processors.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, detail orientation, and ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and finance teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, configure, and maintain payment routing strategies across multiple PSPs, APMs, and acquirers.
  • Continuously monitor performance data to optimize routing rules for higher authorization and conversion rates.
  • Adjust routing logic in real time based on geographical, card-issuer, BIN, risk scoring, and transaction-level factors.
  • Build and refine risk rules and thresholds within anti-fraud systems (e.g., third-party fraud tools, internal scoring models).
  • Conduct deep-dive analysis on fraud incidents and propose rule changes or workflow improvements.
  • Track and report KPIs such as authorization rate, fraud rate, chargeback rate, costs, and checkout funnel performance.
  • Perform A/B testing on routing paths, checkout components, and risk rule adjustments.
  • Identify patterns, anomalies, and areas for improvement across payment providers and markets.
  • Review the entire checkout experience to remove friction and improve user experience and conversion.
  • Work with UX and product teams to test and optimize payment forms, messaging, and f lows.
  • Ensure payment methods are correctly displayed and prioritized per region or customer profile.
  • Monitor technical performance (latency, error rates, response codes) and coordinate f ixes as needed.
