Compliance Manager, Payments, Digital Assets, Limassol, hybrid

We are interested in receiving applications from compliance officers/senior officers and managers that have gained 3-5 years of experience within an EMI/Payments organisation or similar fintech (applications from candidates with FX/CFD backgrounds should also have had exposure as a compliance professional within a payments/EMI company).  Advantageous if you have familiarity with MiCA, MAS, VARA, FinCEN, or crypto-specific regulatory frameworks.

Compliance there is strategic, not administrative. You'll build systems that maintain the highest standards while enabling sophisticated operations across traditional and digital finance. While legacy institutions move slowly through complexity, they see it as an opportunity to build better infrastructure for modern, globally minded businesses.

As Compliance Manager, you will own the frameworks that enable multi-jurisdictional operations across traditional finance and digital assets. You'll work alongside an experienced founding team with deep financial services backgrounds (ex-London FS), and help shape a scalable, risk-aware compliance function as the business enters its next phase of growth.

This is a foundational hire. You'll be the first in-house compliance specialist and will play a key role in building the team, setting strategic direction, and supporting the expansion into new regulatory jurisdictions and licensing regimes.

Build Compliance Infrastructure

• Design and implement AML, KYC, and KYT frameworks covering fiat currencies and digital assets
• Develop compliance systems that scale across multiple jurisdictions and regulatory frameworks

• Maintain and expand transaction monitoring protocols as we grow

• Own onboarding processes and implement rigorous standards for client screening

Drive Regulatory Strategy

• Monitor and anticipate regulatory evolution across our financial products

• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Growth teams to embed compliance into platform architecture
• Advise founders on licensing pathways and regulatory requirements for new product launches

• Build relationships with regulators across key markets (EU, UK, Americas, MENA)

Own Risk Management

• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for multi-currency and digital asset operations

• Develop mitigation strategies and controls for cross-border financial services

• Prepare documentation and serve as point of contact for audits and regulatory inquiries

Scale Compliance Operations

• Create training programs and a compliance culture across the organisation

• Continuously update policies aligned with evolving international requirements

• Lay the foundation for an internal compliance team as we scale

Strategic Involvement

• Provide input on strategic projects and new product development alongside founders

• Support the tech team with compliance insight during infrastructure buildouts

• Bring a proactive, commercially minded lens to complex compliance challenges

• 3-5+ years in fintech, payments, crypto, or banking compliance, ideally within an EMI or payment institution

• Deep expertise in AML, KYC, KYT, and financial crime prevention

• Strategic thinker who can contribute to broader business direction

• Experienced with multiple PSPs, providers, and banking partners

• Capable of managing onboarding and transaction monitoring end-to-end

• Detail-oriented and organised, with strong analytical skills

• Internationally-minded, comfortable representing the business to global partners and regulators
• Bonus: Familiarity with MiCA, MAS, VARA, FinCEN, or crypto-specific regulatory frameworks

Note: Fluency in Greek is not required. The team operates entirely in English.
