We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented
Legal & Compliance Officer
to join our growing fintech team. The ideal candidate is a mid-level professional with strong knowledge of financial regulations and a practical, business-oriented mindset.

You will play a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting legal matters, and enabling the business to scale responsibly in a fast-paced and innovative environment. This role requires someone who is comfortable working cross-functionally, managing regulatory requirements, and providing clear legal guidance to support product development and operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the company's operations comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to fintech, including financial services, AML/CFT, data protection, and consumer protection.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on business activities; advise management on required actions and compliance strategies.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal compliance policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Conduct compliance reviews, risk assessments, and internal audits; identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide legal and compliance advice to business, product, and operations teams on new products, services, and partnerships.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents with vendors, partners, and clients.
  • Support regulatory filings, licensing, reporting, and communications with regulators and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee AML/KYC processes, transaction monitoring frameworks, and regulatory reporting obligations.
  • Handle compliance training and awareness programs for employees.
  • Assist in managing legal disputes, regulatory inquiries, and investigations in coordination with external counsel.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records to support compliance and audit requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB or equivalent); a Master's degree or professional certification in compliance, risk, or finance is an advantage.
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in legal and/or compliance roles, preferably within fintech, financial services, banking, payments, or regulated institutions.
  • Solid understanding of fintech-related regulations, including AML/CFT, KYC, data privacy, payment services, and financial regulations.
  • Experience working with regulators and handling compliance audits, inspections, or licensing processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into practical business guidance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High ethical standards, integrity, and sound professional judgment.
