About the Role
As our Post Production Supervisor, you will own the complete post-production pipeline across both channels, ensuring seamless delivery of 6-12 long-form videos weekly while maintaining our reputation for quality and engaging content. This role combines creative leadership with operational excellence, requiring you to guide a team of 7+ editors and motion graphics artists while implementing systems that scale with our continued growth.
You will establish editorial standards that maximize viewer retention and engagement. Your expertise in YouTube-native content optimization will be crucial in maintaining our strong performance metrics while ensuring all content meets platform requirements and sponsor specifications.
Ideal Candidate
We seek a candidate with at least three years of experience leading post-production teams in the YouTube or digital documentary space. Your background should include direct management of five or more editors in a high-volume environment, with demonstrated success in shipping 8-12 long-form videos monthly while maintaining quality standards.
Technical expertise in Premiere Pro is essential, along with strong collaborative skills in After Effects workflows. Your understanding of YouTube analytics, including click-through rates, average view duration, and retention curves, should be complemented by experience in demonetization risk management and platform compliance.
Excellent communication skills are crucial, particularly the ability to provide concise, actionable feedback in English that helps team members improve their work efficiently.
Job Requirements
Pipeline Management and Quality Assurance:
You will establish and maintain standardized workflows, templates, and quality control processes that ensure consistent output across both channels. This includes developing weekly production schedules, managing resource allocation, and implementing service level agreements that keep our content calendar on track.Editorial Leadership:
Working closely with our creative team, you will define and enforce house style guidelines while conducting detailed reviews of initial cuts. Your feedback will focus on retention optimization, using time-coded notes to guide editors toward content that maintains viewer engagement throughout each video.Team Development and Management:
Leading our post-production team requires both technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills. You will coach team members, manage capacity planning, and build bench strength to support our growth trajectory. A critical component of your leadership role involves conducting weekly analysis of video performance metrics, including retention curves, and engagement data. You will present these findings during production calls, providing actionable recommendations on what editorial techniques are driving success and identifying areas for improvement. This data-driven approach to team development ensures our content continuously evolves to meet audience expectations. When challenges arise, you will escalate appropriately while maintaining team morale and productivity.Content Optimization and Compliance:
Collaborating with our thumbnail and title team, you will ensure all content meets YouTube's best practices while maintaining compliance with sponsor requirements, copyright regulations, and platform policies.
Qualifications
- 5+ yrs leading post on YouTube/digital docs; managed 5+ editors shipping 8–12 long-form videos/month; expert in Premiere Pro, solid AE collaboration; strong YouTube analytics (CTR/AVD/retention) and demonetization risk control; excellent concise English feedback.
Required Skills
