Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance:

-Establish and refine policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

-Prepare applications, notifications, reports, and record updates for regulatory authorities.

-Collaborate with the team to draft and review annual reports and related documentation.

-Handle legal documents from a compliance standpoint and provide guidance on client complaints.

-Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations, conducting thorough investigations into compliance violations or allegations.

Legal Counseling:

-Draft, review, and manage agreements, contracts, and trusts across multiple jurisdictions.

-Develop and implement legal and compliance strategies to facilitate business operations in grey markets.

Monitoring and Enforcement:

-Monitor and enforce compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

-Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify non-compliance.

-Develop and implement corrective action plans to rectify compliance deficiencies and mitigate associated risks.

Leadership and Strategy:

-Establish and maintain relationships with external legal advisors and service providers across different jurisdictions.

-Lead and grow the legal/compliance function, setting strategic direction and ensuring alignment with company objectives.

-Stay abreast of legal and regulatory developments affecting the business and advise on risk management strategies.

Qualifications & Experience:

-Qualified legal background in Cyprus.

-Minimum of 5 years of legal experience, with a strong background in corporate law, international law, and regulatory compliance.

-Experience managing legal and compliance matters across multiple jurisdictions.

-Demonstrated knowledge in regulatory frameworks such as AML, KYC, MiFID, MiFIR, etc.

-Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

-Creative thinker with the ability to devise effective strategies to navigate legal and regulatory challenges in grey markets.

-Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in English.

-Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

-Professional certifications in compliance and/or AML are highly desirable (e.g., CySec, CAMS).

Work Environment:

This role is on-site with working hours from 9:00 to 16:00.
