Senior Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our data team.

Job Description

This role plays a critical part in building and maintaining scalable, high-quality data pipelines. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and manage robust data ingestion processes, orchestrate workflows using Airflow, and contribute to the performance, scalability, and data quality assurance of our modern data environment.

The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable data ingestion pipelines to extract and consolidate data from diverse internal and external sources
  • Developing and managing pipeline orchestration using Apache Airflow, ensuring proper dependency handling, scheduling, and monitoring
  • Optimizing and managing our AWS Redshift environment to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Implementing and enforcing data quality standards including validation checks, anomaly detection, and reconciliation processes
  • Establishing proactive data monitoring and alerting systems to detect and resolve data issues
  • Supporting and contributing to our dbt implementation to manage transformation logic where necessary
  • Designing and maintaining API-based data integrations with third-party systems
  • Promoting and implementing best practices for data engineering, version control (Git), and CI/CD
  • Documenting data ingestion processes and integrations, and contributing to internal knowledge sharing
Required Skills & Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering or a similar role
  • Proven expertise in AWS Redshift or other cloud-based data platforms
  • Advanced SQL skills for querying and data validation
  • Strong proficiency in Python for scripting, data extraction, and API integrations
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow or a willingness to learn
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing
  • Experience with APIs and system integration
  • Familiarity with dbt is a strong plus
  • Experience with implementation of data observability or governance tools (e.g., Open Metadata) is a plus
