About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Chief Accounting Officer to join our team at Emerald Zebra in Nicosia, Cyprus. As a key member of our Family Office, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our financial strategies and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversight of all accounting processes within the Family Office, ensuring compliance with IFRS and other relevant financial standards.
  • Maintenance of accurate, up-to-date financial records, including daily bank reconciliations and payment tracking.
  • Leadership in the preparation of comprehensive financial statements and reports for senior management and external stakeholders.
Financial Oversight and Strategy
  • Development, monitoring, and update of annual budgets, cash flow forecasts, and long-term financial strategies.
  • Provision of actionable financial insights to senior stakeholders to inform business and investment decisions.
  • Design and maintenance of complex financial models for scenario analysis and support data-driven decision-making.
Compliance and Audit
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns and adherence to both corporate and individual tax regulations.
  • Servicing as the primary point of contact for external auditors, ensuring accurate preparation of audited financial statements.
  • Supervision of internal compliance functions and risk controls to minimize financial and operational risks.
Systems and Technology
  • Leverage Microsoft Dynamics, PowerBI, and other ERP systems to streamline processes and improve reporting accuracy.
  • Leading the implementation of innovative technology solutions that enhance financial operations and reporting.
Team Leadership and Collaboration
  • Leading, mentoring, and managing a small team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including investments, operations, and governance, to support the broader objectives of the Family Office.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Chief Accounting Officer who can bring expertise in financial management and accounting to our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling complex financial structures, including corporate and investment-related transactions.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (e.g., Economics).
  • Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CFA are strongly preferred.
  • At least 7-10 years of professional experience, with a mix of Big 4 audit and operational company experience.
  • Proven expertise in managing accounting operations for complex financial instruments and investments in capital markets.
