Role overview:
We are searching for an experienced and results-driven
Systems Team Lead
to join our fast-paced IT infrastructure team. This role is ideal for a technically proficient leader with a passion for team development, hands-on system management, and delivering scalable infrastructure solutions.

You will be responsible for
leading a team of Systems Engineers
, driving the architectural vision for our infrastructure, and ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our enterprise systems—both on-premises and cloud-based.

• Team Leadership & Mentorship Lead, coach, and inspire a team of System Engineers. Foster a collaborative, accountable, and learning-focused team culture. Conduct regular performance reviews and support career growth.
• Infrastructure Design & Strategy Design, implement, and optimize critical infrastructure systems (servers, storage, virtualization, cloud). Align systems architecture with business needs and long-term growth plans.
• Project Execution Manage the full lifecycle of infrastructure projects — from planning to implementation and delivery. Ensure timelines, resources, and goals are consistently met or exceeded.
• Operational Excellence & Uptime Proactively monitor and maintain systems health. Identify performance bottlenecks, lead capacity planning, and implement best practices to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency.
• Incident, Problem & Change Management Act as a final escalation point for critical incidents. Lead root cause analysis, develop post-incident reviews, and drive continuous improvement through preventive measures.
• Cross-Department Collaboration Work closely with Security, Development, Networking, DevOps, and Platform teams to ensure system solutions meet cross-functional needs and compliance standards.
• Documentation & Process Governance Develop and enforce comprehensive documentation for systems configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting. Promote governance through best practices and audits.
• Scalability & Capacity Planning Forecast future growth and build scalable systems to support business expansion. Maintain performance baselines and plan for resource upgrades as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in systems engineering, with 3+ years in technical leadership or team lead capacity.
• Expertise in Windows, Linux system administration and architecture.
• Proficient in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and cloud-native services.
• Experience with virtualization (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, or XenServer).
• Solid understanding of networking concepts
• Strong knowledge of scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, SaltStack, Terraform).
• Solid understanding of ITIL processes and enterprise IT operations.
• Familiar with enterprise monitoring and alerting systems (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Thanos).
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications such as:
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect
• Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
• Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
