Accounting Officer, Nicosia, Cyprus

Euro 2,500 - 3,500/month gross (depending on experience) + 13th salary + medical insurance

We are seeking a professional at a junior to mid-level stage in their accounting or finance career.  Someone who is motivated to grow and evolve over time within the structure. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a junior to mid level developing professional who is still on an upward learning path, rather than someone already established at senior level. The position suits individuals who value long-term growth, stability, and the potential to eventually step into senior responsibilities within the department. Candidates whose background is limited solely to audit may find the nature of this role less aligned with their expertise, as it requires a broader hands-on approach within the finance function.

Join a privately owned family office in Nicosia, Cyprus, as an Accounting Officer, and become part of a stable, senior team managing internal group accounting functions end-to-end.

With over 15 years in Cyprus, this family office supports a group of private companies and principals not third-party clients. The structure is flat, the standards are high, and the team is small and collaborative. You'll report to the Accounting Manager but own your day-to-day workflow.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Handling day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping for multiple entities within the group.
  • Preparing management accounts, including tailored analysis and reporting.

  • Reconciling accounts and overseeing general ledger accuracy.

  • Preparing VAT returns and ensuring compliance with Cyprus tax regulations.
  • Liaising with external auditors and managing the audit preparation process.

  • Managing payments, bank reconciliations, and internal documentation.

  • Supporting the Accounting Manager with analysis and reporting where needed.

What you'll bring:

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • At least 1-3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.

  • Experience in full-cycle accounting and working across multiple entities.

  • Basic knowledge of Cyprus VAT and tax practices, however, full training will be 

    provided.
  • Familiarity with audit preparation and liaising with external stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in 

    English. Greek advantageous.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
