Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer (AMLCO) with a focus on payments, based in Nicosia. The AMLCO will be responsible for overseeing anti-money laundering operations, customer due diligence, periodic reviews, conducting risk assessments for payment card processing, monitoring and analyzing financial transactions, and ensuring compliance with the CBC guidance for the role and regulatory standards. The role also includes preparing reports for regulatory authorities, communicating with stakeholders, and assisting in the development of compliance frameworks to combat financial crime.

The AMLCO reports to the EGM for day to day operations, and to the Chair of the Board Risk Committee as to functional performance.

The succesful candidate will also manage an in-house team of specialists in the
AML/CFT field, and liaise with the Group's Risk Team, UK and Latvian MLRO's on a regular basis.

Qualifications

• Previously approved by the Central Bank of Cyprus (or other EU or UK regulator) in the role of either AMLCO or Alternate/Deputy AMLCO (MLRO) [Mandatory]
• Strong Analytical Skills for assessing financial transactions and identifying compliance risks
• Experience with SEPA Instant, SWIFT, and/or Payment Card Processing and knowledge of payments-related operational procedures
• Excellent Communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders and regulatory bodies
• Proficiency in Finance and Accounting to support compliance and reporting processes
• Familiarity with anti-money laundering regulations and financial compliance requirements
• Detail-oriented and capable of working independently in a regulated industry
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
• Previous experience in AML roles, preferably in the payments industry, is an advantage
