General Manager, Nicosia – GM/12/25

The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC) seeks a strategic, perceptive and inspiring leader to assume the role of General Manager.

As ICPAC's most senior executive, the General Manager plays a pivotal role in setting the strategic direction and continually strengthening the credibility of the accounting profession in Cyprus. The role is central to shaping and executing ICPAC's strategy, upholding the public interest, reinforcing the Institute's supervisory function, and cultivating partnerships with government bodies, regulators, professional organisations and international institutions.

Contract Term

A five-year contract, renewable for up to two additional five-year terms by decision of the Board of Directors, subject to applicable regulations, including ICPAC's mandatory retirement limit.

Renumeration and Benefits

Annual renumeration circa €100.000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic and Executive Leadership
Contributes to the formulation, updating, and implementation of ICPAC's strategy.Provides evidence-based recommendations to the Board on policy, regulatory matters, and strategic development.Anticipates critical issues, opportunities, and risks affecting ICPAC's mission and regulatory remit.Organisational Leadership
Ensure effective organisation, direction and oversight of ICPAC's services and departments.Foster a culture of high performance, professionalism and continuous improvement.Secure coordination and coherence across organisational units.Regulatory and Supervisory Compliance
Ensure full compliance with the legal, regulatory and supervisory framework.Monitor developments in professional ethics, transparency, AML/CFT, auditing and accounting standards, CSRD and related directives.External Relations and Representation
Build and maintain close cooperation with Ministries, Independent Authorities, the House of Representatives, and other institutional stakeholders.Represent ICPAC in international professional bodies and organisations, promoting Cyprus's standing globally.Committees and Governance Processes
Support ICPAC Committees with technocratic and administrative guidance.Ensure implementation of Board decisions and report on progress and effectiveness.Required Qualifications
Member of ICPAC.At least 10 years in senior managerial roles, including a minimum of 5 years with supervisory/leadership responsibilities.Experience in supporting the governance and operation of a Board of Directors will be considered an advantage.Very good command of Greek and English. In-depth knowledge of the relevant legislation, regulatory framework, and the economic environment.Integrity and commitment to transparency and professional ethics.Skills and Competence
