About the role

As an AML - TMS Officer with direct reporting to the Head of Compliance, you will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and escalating suspicious activity across both crypto and fiat transactions, ensuring compliance with anti-money laundering regulations and internal policies.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor real-time and post-event alerts generated by transaction monitoring systems for both cryptocurrency and fiat transactions.
  • Investigate unusual patterns, red flags, and potential structuring or layering activities.
  • Request and assess Source of Funds (SoF) and Source of Wealth (SoW) documentation.
  • Prepare Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs/STRs) and escalate cases to the AMLCO.
  • Stay up to date with EU AML directives, FATF recommendations, and crypto-specific regulations (e.g. MiCA, Transfer of Funds Regulation etc).
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of monitoring rules and systems.
  • Maintain and update AML records, documentation, and case-files to support audits, reviews and comply with applicable record-keeping requirements.
  • Assist in AML risk assessments and support internal control reviews and testing.
  • Assist in preparation of materials for regulatory inspections or internal audits.

Required knowledge and experience

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Finance, Law, Business, or other related field.
  • CySEC AML Certificate (or readiness to pass the CySEC AML examination) .
  • Proven experience (3+ years preferred) in AML compliance within financial services, fintech, or crypto industries.
  • Knowledge of AML/CFT laws and regulatory requirements along with their interpretation and practical implementation.
  • High attention to details and methodical approach to handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Experience with AML software/tools for Transactions Monitoring (experience with Elliptic is an advantage)
  • Strong ethical standards and commitment to upholding regulatory integrity and corporate compliance.
