On behalf of a corporate tax and advisory specialist, a fantastic new position is now live and accepting applications for a Senior Accountant based in Nicosia.

Permanent position

€30,000 - €36,000 + benefits and bonus.

Hybrid working - Four days on-site, one day working from home

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
  • Lead the management accounting process, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and performance reporting.
  • Oversee general ledger postings, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing procedures.
  • Strong understanding and direct experience with VAT + VAT Calculations
  • Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with auditors during annual audits and provide all necessary documentation.
  • Develop and implement internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
  • Provide financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in daily operations.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, including banks, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Part or Fully qualified
    ACCA
    (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants).
  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2+
    years of relevant accounting experience
    , preferably in an accounting position already.
  • Direct experience within client accounting is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, Cyprus tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills in English; Greek language proficiency will be considered an advantage.
