Why this role matters
We are looking for a Database Administrator with a primary focus on PostgreSQL and secondary experience with ClickHouse and MongoDB. You will be responsible for monitoring, supporting, and troubleshooting critical database environments, ensuring their stability, security, and performance. Working closely with senior DBAs and development teams, you will play a key role in keeping our data platforms reliable and efficient.
What you'll actually do
- Accountable for monitoring PostgreSQL clusters, ensuring availability, replication health, and performance.
- Participate in on-call rotation and incident response for production databases.Provide day-to-day support and troubleshooting for PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, and MongoDB.
- Support developers and application teams with database-related requests and troubleshooting.
- Perform routine maintenance including backups, restores, patching, and version upgrades.
- Investigate incidents, database errors, and performance bottlenecks, escalating complex issues when required.
- Manage database security, including creation and administration of users, roles, and privileges.
Who We're Looking For
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience in PostgreSQL administration.
- 3+ years of Linux administration experience.
- Strong understanding of PostgreSQL replication, backup/restore, indexing, and query troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with ClickHouse and MongoDB administration in a support/monitoring role.
- Good knowledge of database fundamentals: HA, DR, capacity monitoring, and performance tuning basics.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, Graylog).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make pragmatic technical decisions
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, especially in cross-functional setups
Nice to have
- Experience in Clickhouse, MongoDB administration
- Exposure to other databases (Cassandra, Vertica).
- Experience with PostgreSQL advanced features (logical replication, partitioning, extensions).
- Experience with MinIO object storage
