Head Of Risk
in Limassol.

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Risk to lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive risk management framework across all financial and operational areas of a fast-growing international organization.

The successful candidate will oversee market, liquidity, operational, and counterparty risk, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory standards, and prudent capital management practices.

This role plays a key part in safeguarding the company's stability and supporting sustainable growth through proactive risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.

Responsibilities

Strategic Risk Leadership

• Develop and maintain a robust, group-wide risk management framework covering all financial and operational activities.
• Define and manage the organization's risk appetite, ensuring consistency with business goals and regulatory expectations.
• Deliver regular risk reports and insights to senior leadership, highlighting emerging risks and recommending mitigation actions.
• Lead and mentor the Risk team, ensuring strong governance, clear escalation channels, and efficient oversight.

Market & Trading Risk Management

• Oversee exposure monitoring, margin control, and position management across multiple business units.
• Establish and maintain risk limits, perform stress testing and scenario analysis to assess the impact of market volatility.
• Collaborate with technology and operations teams to enhance analytics, automation, and risk reporting capabilities.
• Review and assess new business initiatives, strategies, or products to ensure alignment with defined risk parameters.

Counterparty, Credit & Liquidity Risk

• Manage counterparty exposure and ensure sound liquidity management and capital adequacy across the group.
• Monitor credit limits, partner exposure, and balance sheet risks — escalating any breaches promptly.
• Contribute to strategic decisions around funding sources, partner relationships, and risk mitigation structures.

Operational & Regulatory Risk

• Oversee operational risk controls, incident management, and internal processes to ensure consistency and integrity.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and internal governance standards.
• Conduct risk assessments for new platforms, systems, and product developments.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely completion of follow-up actions.

Leadership & Risk Culture

• Build and develop a high-performing Risk team with strong analytical and technical expertise.
• Foster a risk-aware culture, embedding risk-based thinking into all business and operational decisions.
• Partner closely with Finance, Technology, and Compliance to integrate risk management into strategic planning and day-to-day operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or Risk Management.
• At least five years of experience in senior risk management roles, ideally within a brokerage, proprietary trading.
• Proven expertise in market, liquidity, and operational risk management.
• Strong knowledge of exposure management, leverage, and margin methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing risk frameworks and governance structures.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
• Preferred Attributes
• Experience with risk automation and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Strategic mindset with the ability to balance risk discipline with commercial agility.
• Proactive approach to identifying and addressing emerging risks in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
