Monitoring and Compliance Officer
On behalf of ICPAC, an established professional institute, we are currently seeking a dynamic individual for the position of Monitoring and Compliance Officer
to join their team in Nicosia.
Objective
The Employee is expected to handle matters that fall within all the areas mentioned below. The Employee is expected to take the appropriate actions, monitor the progress and implementation of tasks allocated, submit progress reports and recommendations, and be able to take necessary decisions where required, for the continuous improvement of the department and the Institute in general.
Positions' Duties and Responsibilities
- Offer assistance to the Head of Monitoring and Compliance in planning, organizing, and monitoring tasks related to the department's functions.
- Monitor and assess the results of AML/CFT and Sanctions supervisory visits.
- Cooperate with the team of reviewers assigned to conduct full scope supervisory visits to firms.
- Conduct other types of supervisory visits to firms.
- Prepare reports for referral of firms for possible administrative actions as a result of incompliant supervisory outcomes.
- Prepare departmental and other statistical reports and assist in the preparation of the department's annual report.
- Prepare relevant content for the institute's website and social media pages related to their duties.
- Be informed of legislation, regulations, circulars, and other documents relevant to their subject area, including institutional Regulations and Directives, EU Directives and Regulations, FATF publications, circulars, and sanctions issued by the European Commission, UN, and other relevant bodies.
- Collaborate with internal legal officers and external legal advisors for the execution of their duties.
- Prepare guidelines, circulars, and directives within their areas of responsibility and propose training seminar and presentation topics.
- Provide support to the institute's Members on monitoring and compliance matters.
- Collaborate with all external organizations relevant to their responsibilities and coordinate with external service providers supporting the institute's Members on technical matters.
- Participate in institute Committees relevant to their duties, following instructions and/or directions from the Head of Department.
- Represent the institute in authority and committee's meetings relevant to their duties, including government departments and national authorities, ministries, the House of Representatives, the Advisory Authority for Combating Money Laundering, and other supervisory authorities, both in Cyprus and abroad, when needed.
- Monitor IT systems relevant to their responsibilities and submit proposals for improvements and/or upgrades.
- Prepare articles for publication in the institute's magazine

or elsewhere, if needed. - Any other assigned duties.
Position's Requirements
- University degree in Law, Risk Management, Accounting, Business Administration, or any other related field.
- AML/CFT or sanctions certification from a national or international body/authority e.g. ICPAC's/CBA's AML/CFT Certification, ICA Certification, CySEC AML Certification, ACAMS, etc.
- At least 3 years of experience in the field of AML/CFT and Sanctions.
- Excellent knowledge of the Prevention and Suppression of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Law and the Implementation of Provisions of Resolutions or Decisions of the United Nations Security Council (Sanctions) and the Decisions and Regulations of the Council of the European Union (Restrictive Measures) Law.
- Excellent command of Greek and English languages

Working hours:
Monday – Friday (twice a week 8:00-17:30, three times per week 8:00-15:00). Following a 38-hour working week, flexibility and working from home arrangements are available, subject to the needs of the organization.
