Job Description

GRS Recruitment is working in partnership with Columbia Group to find an experienced Operations Director to lead and manage their offshore operations.

  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective offshore operations.
  • Oversee day-to-day management of offshore activities, ensuring they meet both productivity and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with other department heads to ensure that operational activities are aligned with the overall strategy and objectives of the company.
  • Manage budgets and forecasts and oversee procurement and supply chain management to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and safety requirements in all offshore operations.
  • Lead and manage a diverse team, providing coaching and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, including clients, Charterers, end-users, regulatory bodies, partners, and suppliers.
  • Ensure that all offshore equipment and infrastructure are maintained to the highest standards and are fit for purpose.
  • Be prepared to respond to emergencies and unexpected issues, implementing contingency plans as needed.
Candidate Profile
  • Experience in an Operations Management position with an offshore management company.
  • Seagoing experience as Captain with DP-2 and DP-3 vessels.
  • Extensive experience in operational management, preferably in an offshore environment/wind farm/Oil and Gas.
  • Strong understanding of offshore industry standards and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively.
  • Proficient in the use of operational software and technology.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including occasional visits to offshore sites.
