Financial Crime Operations Team Leader

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of financial crime specialists in a global Fintech company. As a Financial Crime Operations Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing a team that identifies, assesses, and understands the risks associated with financial crimes.

  • Key Responsibilities:

    ">

    • Manage a team of financial crime SMEs, ensuring they are efficient, properly trained, and adhere to all relevant laws and regulations.

      ">

    • Set goals, develop work schedules, allocate resources, and determine priorities for the team.

      ">

    • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and address any performance issues or conflicts that may arise.

      ">

  • Identify, assess, and understand the risks associated with financial crimes, including money laundering, fraud, and other illicit activities.

    ">

  • Ensure the organization complies with all relevant laws and regulations related to financial crime, staying updated on any changes to these laws and regulations.

    ">

  • Generate and present regular reports on the team's activities and findings, which may be used by senior management to make strategic decisions.

    ">

  • Responsible for the ongoing training and development of their team, keeping them updated on new types of financial crimes and the latest methods for detecting and preventing them.

    ">

  • May also be involved in developing and updating the company's policies related to financial crime and tracking key performance indicators, evaluating outcomes, and identifying areas for improvement.

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, such as senior management, AMLROs, and law enforcement agencies.

    ">

  • Continuously seek to improve the processes and strategies used by the team to combat financial crimes, implementing new technologies or methodologies as needed.

Your Profile:

">

  • A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, criminal justice, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.

    ">

  • Experience in financial crime, transaction monitoring, fraud prevention, anti-money laundering (AML), or a related field.

    ">

  • Leadership or management experience is required.

    ">

  • Strong leadership and management skills, analytical thinking, attention to detail, problem-solving, decision-making, and excellent communication abilities.

    ">

  • Proficiency in database management and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

    ">

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting findings and preparing reports.

    ">

  • Ability to work independently, under pressure, and as part of a bigger team in a fast-paced environment.
